There is a state regulation that mandates all APRNs to acquire their licensure from state nursing boards to ensure the provision of quality care within their role and prescribe medication and treatment according to the prescriptive authority board. State regulation influences nurses’ roles in determining the correct medication for patients depending on the illness while at the same time heeding the rigid authority board. This warns the nurses from making mistakes on medicines as it might affect their scope of practice and even suspend their licensure or revoke it. Therefore, nurses get recruited to become doctors who can offer treatment in rural areas where more qualified health professional services are unavailable.

The state regulation influences the costs, delivery, and access to healthcare in a big way, especially on delivering medical treatment services in rural areas. The nursing board invests a lot in ensuring that the correct medication is manufactured and that patients with cancer and Ebola illnesses receive treatments and health education at the community/patients’ homes. Imposing this state regulation on APRNs impacts the ease of patients accessing medicines at affordable costs as Nurses’ services are cheaper, making medical services accessible and affordable. Access to remote medical services is enhanced through technology and the fact that nurses nowadays get posted in rural areas to offer quality treatments and health education, hence making health services accessible to all people.
